The Enterpad™ - Configuration software
IntroductionThe utilities which are on this page are all used to configure the Cedeq keyboard memory, if it is configurable. Once the memory has been configured, it stays configured even if the current is cut. Thus, the configuration utility will not be needed anymore except if a new configuration is required. Here is a history of different types of memories used by Cedeq keyboards: Preconfigured Permanent Memory: It is the first generation of every keyboard manufactured by Cedeq, from 1988 to 1992. These keyboards, the "Cedeq P120 8088N" and "Cedeq P120 82086N" were preconfigured and it was impossible to change anything after that, without changing the memory circuits. Most of the keyboards sold at this time generally had an identical configuration and the user had to use a resident program, like Newkey from Fab Software or Superkey from Borland, to be able to convert the keyboard configuration according to his or her needs. Take note that Cedeq never manufactured that type of resident program. However, Cedeq still can manufacture this type of keyboard upon request. 10-year Permanent Reconfigurable Memory: This is the second generation of Cedeq's keyboards; the "Cedeq P120 Enhanced" and the "Cedeq P120 Enhanced+". At this time, it was possible to configure and reconfigure the keyboard. It would stay configured even if the current was cut. However, after a period of ten years, the battery-operated memory circuit would cease to function. The memory circuit had to be replaced in order to install a new battery. Cedeq doesn't manufacture this type of keyboard anymore. It has been favorably replaced by the third generation of keyboards. Reconfigurable Permanent Memory: It is the memory of the third generation of keyboards, the one still inside the current keyboards manufactured by Cedeq, called "Cedeq P120 TouchPad" and the "Enterpad". The memories are permanent, like the first generation, as well as reconfigurable, as the second generation. Furthermore, because of our exclusive system of memory retention, no loss of configuration has ever been signaled. Enterpad \ With Din 5 or MiniDin 6 pin plug \ Configuration from DosThis utility compiles and downloads a configuration file in the memory of the Enterpad with a command line from Dos. The zip file contains the executable "POS42.EXE". You may also use it to configure older "Cedeq P120 TouchPad" and "Cedeq P120 Enhanced+". By doing so, you have to keep in mind that some of the Enterpad's new functions, like macro repetition, may not work with an older version of the Enterpad. Use the DOS section of this short tutorial to configure the first key of the Enterpad to send the "hello" sequence. If needed, you can consult this manual to know how to use more complex features of the Enterpad. Download POS42.zip (24k) (Qwerty Emulation) Enterpad \ With Din 5 or MiniDin 6 pin plug \ Configuration from Win9xThis utility edits, compiles and downloads a configuration file in the memory of the Enterpad from Win9x. You may also use it to configure older "Cedeq P120 TouchPad" and "Cedeq P120 Enhanced+" but keep in mind that some of the Enterpad's new functions, like macro repetition, may not work with an older version of the Enterpad. The "install" program will suggest "c:\enterpad" as a default directory. Every program file will be installed in this directory. The installation program will also create an additional option in the Win9x main menu which will be called "Enterpad Cedeq". In the end, a desinstaller will be created. No other modification should be done on your hard disk. Use the Windows section of this short tutorial to configure the first key of the Enterpad to send the "hello" sequence. If needed, you can consult this manual to know how to use more complex features of the Enterpad. Download WINPOS42q.zip (892k)
(Qwerty emulation) Enterpad \ With USB or RS232 plug \ Configuration from WinME/XP to VistaThis utility compiles and downloads a configuration file in the memory of the Enterpad from WinME/XP to Vista. You may also use it to configure older "Cedeq P120 TouchPad" and "Cedeq P120 Enhanced+" but keep in mind that some of the Enterpad's new functions, like macro repetition, may not work with an older version of the Enterpad. ATTENTION: This utility only works from Windows Me and up as well as Windows 2000 and it is not possible to configure a regular Enterpad (5-pin din or minidin 6 pins) from Windows XP/2000. Because Cedeq wants to support several other OS, there will no longer be a text editor, which was available in the other Windows configuration softwares. It is easy to assign your text editor in the .ini file of this software with the line "Editor=notepad.exe", "notepad" being the default text editor. This software will not install any .dll files in the Windows system. It works from its own folder which also contains its .ini file. If necessary, the Enterpad can be entirely configured from a floppy. In the same way, when you plug a USB Enterpad for the first time, it will be detected by Windows HID drivers, included in the OS. You may refer to configuration tutorial "hello" to know how to create a configuration file. If needed you can consult the Manual to know how to use more complex features of the Enterpad. This version will improve. You may come back to download the latest version. Any suggestion will be appreciate.
