USB, RS232 and RS485 plugs available for the Enterpad™The Enterpad, available with a DIN 5 or a MINIDIN 6 pin keyboard plug since 1989, is also available with a USB plug since 2001. The USB Enterpad was successfully tested with Windows 98ME/XP/2000/Vista. It emulates a regular keyboard without installing any driver because it uses the Windows HID keyboard driver. The USB Enterpad should be considered for all new applications where a USB port is available and when the Operating System supports Human Interface Device (USB keyboard). The Enterpad is also available with a RS232 port. The RS232 Enterpad may be programmed with one computer and used with any equipment (CNC tool, scale, etc...) with a RS232 port to control it. The same concept applies: just configure the Enterpad from a computer and it will send ASCII or ANSI codes anywhere! Hint: Are you developing a new electronic product? Use a micro-controller with a RS232 port and a very simple enclosure. By using the Enterpad there is no need to develop a keyboard to control your device.
The Enterpad is also available with a RS485 port. This model is useful when you need to connect several Enterpads on the same computer. By using a single RS485 port, your application keeps on searching through each Enterpad several times per second to find out if a key has been pressed. Need information? Have comments?
